Today marks my 27th year in Japan and 1st month anniversary as a blogger. As I thought about something new to do, I planned to showcase my residence city which I hope the articles will be helpful for people looking for beautiful vistas in Northwest Tokyo and information service to locals & internationals. I’d been telling my foreign friends & acquaintances how peaceful and beautiful Tachikawa City is! Indeed, it is a good place to live and work because the various amenities are very accessible and so many interesting places to visit!

Official video introduction of Tachikawa City

Great to start my new series of articles at the onset of my 28th year in Japan at the Tachikawa City Hall! It’s the center of the city — the hub for various activities. What a coincidence, meaning unplanned, that I need to visit it today as accompanied by an immigration lawyer. We took some legal documents like residence certificate, tax record copy, and My Number plastic card application. Last night when I was thinking of changing topics for my blogs for February, I thought it’s good to introduce my city….

The city hall is located in 1156-9 Izumicho, Tachikawa City; north side of JR Tachikawa Station and the closest train station is Takamatsu (Tama Monorail). As of January 2019, it has a population of 183,822 with 91,270 households. Check the city website here for more information: http://honyaku.j-server.com/LUCTCKW/ns/tl.cgi/http%3a//www.city.tachikawa.lg.jp/index.html?SLANG=ja&TLANG=en&XMODE=0&XPARAM=q,&XCHARSET=utf-8&XPORG=,&XJSID=0
